International contests TO DO! and TOURA D’OR announced again

The TO DO! – Contest Socially Responsible Tourism is announced worldwide for the 20th time in 2014 by Studienkreis für Tourismus und Entwicklung e.V. (Institute for Tourism and Development). Existing tourism projects from private or public organizations who take into account in an outstanding manner the interests and needs of the local population by active participation during planning and implementation are welcome to apply. This also includes fair remuneration, training and education, strengthening the own culture and other measures which contribute to a sustainable tourism development. After a selection of prize worthy projects by a jury, followed by an on-site check, TO DO!2014 winners are ascertained and will be awarded during ITB Berlin in March 2015. Deadline for application: 30th September 2014.

Cooperation partners: German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ); Bread for the World – Church Development Service / Tourism Watch, forum anders reisen, ITB Berlin, Swiss Foundation for Solidarity in Tourism, Studiosus Reisen München GmbH.

Prize money: Swiss Foundation for Solidarity in Tourism for each winner 5,000 Swiss Francs.

 

The international TOURA D´OR – Film Contest Sustainable Tourism organized by Studienkreis is also announced in 2014 – bi-annually since 1990. Accepted are contributions produced within the period of 2012 to 2014 in German or English, which support a socially responsible, environmentally more compatible and thus future-oriented tourism. After selection by a jury, productions from different categories are awarded, including informational films and documentaries, and magazine or service contributions. The TOURA D’OR award ceremony will also take place during ITB Berlin in March 2015. Deadline for application: 30th September 2014.
