Again announced world-wide:
TOURA D'OR 2006 – Film Contest Sustainable Tourism
TO DO!2006 – Contest Socially Responsible Tourism

The tourism contests organized by the Studienkreis für Tourismus und Entwicklung (Institute for Tourism and Development), "TOURA D'OR" and "TO DO!" are again announced world-wide. The conditions of participation as well as application forms in German and English can either be downloaded via Internet resp. or requested from the organizer.

The "TOURA D'OR Film Contest for Sustainable Tourism" addresses professional filmmakers, producers and those commissioning tourism-relevant films here in Germany and abroad. Awards will be given to productions which stand for a socially responsible, environmentally compatible and therefore sustainable tourism. Accepted are video tapes in the format VHS/PAL or DVDs in German or English and which have been produced within the period 2004 to 2006. The TOURA D'OR deadline for application is September 30th, 2006.

The "TO DO! – Contest for Socially Responsible Tourism" pursues almost the same objectives. But here the contest organizer is looking for tourism projects world-wide which have already been realized and where the different needs and interests of the local population is taken account of by involving the people in the planning and implementation process. Concepts and project ideas, which are not implemented yet, cannot be considered. As to the "TO DO! – Contest Socially Responsible Tourism" both public and private institutions can compete and so can enterprises active in tourism. The TO DO! deadline for application is August 31rst, 2006. This time, too, both contests are supported by national, church-related and other organisations.

Sponsors of the TO DO! Contest:
The Swiss Foundation for Solidarity in Tourism (SST) will donate 5000,- Swiss Francs prize money for each award winner. The Europäische Reiseversicherung AG adds another 2000,- Euro for the award winners.
