Announced worldwide for the eleventh time:
TO DO! 2005 - Contest Socially Responsible Tourism
Prize money from "Swiss Foundation for Solidarity in Tourism" and from the firm of "Europäische Reiseversicherung AG"

The "TO DO! - Contest Socially Responsible Tourism" organised by the Studienkreis für Tourismus und Entwicklung (Institute for Tourism and Development) is again announced worldwide at the beginning of May 2005. The conditions of participation as well as the application form in German or English language can be downloaded via Internet ( or requested from the organiser.
The Swiss Foundation for Solidarity in Tourism (SST) will again donate 5,000 Swiss Francs prize money for each award winner. The Europäische Reiseversicherung AG adds another 2,000 Euro for the award winners.
Within the framework of the "TO DO! - Contest" the organiser is once more looking for tourism projects or measures worldwide which have already been realised and where the different needs and interests of the local population are ensured by involving the people in the planning and implementation process. This includes the attractiveness of jobs in tourism. Care must be taken to enhance and to strengthen the local culture and to avoid social, cultural and ecological damage caused by tourism. Concepts and project ideas which are not yet relized cannot be considered. Deadline for application: August 31st, 2005.

During the last years 179 tourism projects from five continents have participated in the TODO! contest.
So far 23 projects got an award.
